Crate & Breakfast and "Airlift Memorial" * November 2013

When my Dad Heiko left for America, of course I did not join him.
He flew to New York and visited family and friends.

For dogs it is very disturbing to travel in a crate in the belly of an airplane.
Not a good idea, and quite expensive...

He took me to the doggie "Bed & Breakfast" at Frankfurt Aiport
"Hundepension" in German.
I had already spent some days there.
In the beginning it was different and I had to get used to it, but then it was lots of fun.

Every dog has his own terrasse in the backyard and green playing areas.
I even slept in my own "Bailey" crate.
An interesting experience.

After picking me up he told me that we were going to see the "Luftbruecken-Denkmal"
Ooops, what is that????
Two planes and a huge fork??? Mmmmhhh

My dad told me the three ends symbolize the three corridors of the airlift
and that it was build in 1985

You can also see and sniff at a piece of the "Berliner Mauer".

Berlin, Berlin??? So in which direction do I need to run?

And an this old postcard of the counterpart of the airlift monument situated at the former aiport TEMPELHOF in Berlin (built in 1951 - first location of the monument)

The third one was erected in 1988 in Celle (Lower Saxony) - smaller version

A Visit to Daddy's Grave * November 2013

One year after my daddy Troy had passed, my daddy Heiko flew over to America
in order to visit his grave and to lay down the engraved pebble stone.
I stayed at home.

Arriving in Linden, New Jersey at Rosehill Cemetery.

There was some work to do.
For one year Daddy Heiko could not take care of it.

A pebble stone and a boxwood tree from Germany.

Heiko planted the boxwood tree.
It is one of the trees that Troy had put into our nice garden.
He is watching the grave while we cannot be there...

This stone is coming home with Daddy Heiko to Germany.
Food is always good, keeps together body and soul as the Germans say.
Time to say good-bye for my Daddy Heiko.
Too bad I could not be there.
So beautiful and peaceful there...
We are missing you, but you are deep in our hearts, daddy!
A sloppy kiss from your little furry monster.
